- I grew up in Riverside California. I lived in Riverside until 1967 when I went away to college. I hitchhiked back and forth between Berkeley and the Haight Ashbury during the Summer of Love. I had a band in high school and college. After college I was in a band in San Francisco during my '20s. I got sober December 19, 1978.
